- The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could have significantly better cooling than the Galaxy S24 Ultra
- The rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup could see minor cooling improvements
- The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may also be better at shooting videos in low light than its predecessor
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is one of the best gaming phones you can buy, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could be significantly better in this regard.
On the one hand, it will of course be more powerful, but it may also be able to make better use of all that power, as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra's vapor chamber will deliver 42% better cooling than the vapor chamber, according to a post from tipster Ahmed Qwaider on X (via Android Police). in the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
This should keep the phone much cooler when used for demanding tasks like high-end gaming, and that in turn should help the chipset maintain peak performance, as performance is often throttled when a device heats up too much .

The standard Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus will apparently also see some improvements in this regard, but only a 10 percent increase in cooling.
That's definitely good news, because when the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset – which we're expecting in these phones – isn't slowed down by heat, it's a real powerhouse, with Qwaider noting that it should deliver a 34% performance boost to the GPU -Performance, a 38% increase in CPU performance and a 43% increase in NPU performance compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The night video is also better
And that's not the only improvement we're hearing about for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra right now, as according to reputable leaker @UniverseIce (via SamMobile), it could also deliver improved video quality when shooting at night. This is apparently made possible by processor improvements, so the Snapdragon 8 Elite shouldn't just help with gaming.
However, it's unclear whether or not these video improvements will apply to the rest of the Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup. @UniverseIce specifically mentions the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but the other models are reportedly getting the same chipset, so they might benefit from that too.
We should find out soon as Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 series on January 22nd, so we won't have to wait long.
